Florida State Football Program Lands Four-Star Recruit Lawayne McCoy from Miami Central High School

Florida State University’s (FSU) football program has just landed a big recruiting win. Lawayne McCoy, a four-star athlete, has officially committed to playing for FSU. McCoy hails from Miami Central High School and is 6’0 and 170 pounds in weight. He is also ranked 303rd nationally, 172nd on 247’s site rankings.

The competition for McCoy was fierce; he was fielding offers from the Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Louisville Cardinals, Ole Miss Rebels, and others. Ultimately, he chose to play for Florida State’s football program. McCoy shares his excitement and commitment to FSU through a video he posted on Instagram.

McCoy also possesses notable qualities, such as his ability to accelerate quickly and catch the ball while in motion. Coming off the back of recent victories on the recruiting front, this particular commitment serves as additional proof of how much of a hot streak FSU is on as it works to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season.

Additionally, the new commitment solidifies FSU’s recruitment progress, making it the ninth overall commitment of the year, five of which are blue-chip recruits. This definitely sets the scene for a great recruiting weekend for Florida State.

Although McCoy is only one recruit, his commitment marks a significant piece of the puzzle for FSU’s football program. With noteworthy attributes and a great head for the sport, it would not be surprising to see him take one of the leading roles on the team. Go Seminoles!
