Ranking The Top 50 FBS QBs of 2024

Top 50

50. LaNorris Sellers – South Carolina

• Sellers is a player who will have a breakout season in 2024 and make a name for himself. He’s too talented for me to leave off of this list and Shane Beamer has already named him the starting QB. Last season as a Freshman he was (4-4) for 86 yards 2 TDs and rushed for 51 yards 1 TD.

49. Fernando Mendoza – California

• Mendoza showed a lot of potential last season as a Freshman. He threw for 1,708 yards 14 Touchdowns completing 63% of his passes and also rushed for 92 yards 2 TDs.

48. Dylan Raiola – Nebraska

• Raiola will be a True Freshman in 2024 and he’s a former 5 star who has tons and tons of upside. He’s yet to be on the field for a real game but his talent and potential are real.

47. Tyler Van Dyke – Wisconsin

• Just a few years ago TVD was in a lot of peoples top 10 CFB QBs and now he’s barely in my top 50. Don’t get me wrong he’s a solid college starter and should do well for the Badgers but he’s not as good as we thought he was two years ago.

46. Kurtis Rourke – Indiana

• Rourke the longtime Ohio Bobcat makes the move to the Big Ten. He’s been a solid G5 QB for years throwing for 7,651 yards 50 Touchdowns and completing 66.3% of his passes. He’s also a rushing threat with 828 rushing yards 11 Touchdowns.

45. Thomas Castellanos – Boston College

• Last season Castellanos made a big impact for Boston College and if he can cut back on INTs he could be a Top 25 QB in College Football. He’s a Dual Threat who rushed for 1,113 yards 13 Touchdowns last season and threw for 2,248 yards 15 Touchdowns 14 INTs.

44. Tyler Shough – Louisville

• Shough transfers in from Texas Tech. He’s a solid portal addition from Louisville but we don’t know his ceiling because he’s had injuries throughout his career. In his career he’s thrown for 4,625 yards 36 Touchdowns completing 63.2% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 714 yards 10 Touchdowns.

43.
 Jacob Zeno – UAB

• The former Baylor Bear found his home at UAB and thrived in 2023. In his career he’s thrown for 4,129 yards 26 Touchdowns while completing an impressive 69% of his passes. He’s also a threat on the ground with 263 rushing yards 6 TDs.

42. Max Brosmer – Minnesota

• Brosmer was a big time player for FCS New Hampshire and was basically unstoppable. In his career he’s thrown for 8,713 yards 70 Touchdowns while completing 62% of his passes. He’s also a Dual Threat who has rushed for 263 yards 10 Touchdowns in his career. Obviously the jump from the FCS to the Big Ten will be a tough transition but Brosmer has the talent to excel.

41. Mikey Keene – Fresno State

• Keene is a player who gets overlooked I believe because he plays in the Mountain West. In his career he’s thrown for 5,353 yards 47 Touchdowns completing 66.4% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 2 TDs.

40. Miller Moss – USC

• Moss is definitely in an offense and system where he should excel. I’m projecting him to have a breakout campaign in 2024. In his career he’s thrown for 914 yards 9 Touchdowns with only 1 INT while completing an impressive 71.7% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 27 yards 2 TDs.

39. Cade Klubnik – Clemson

• Klubnik was a heralded recruit but I’ll be honest, he needs to do a lot more to be a Top 25 QB in CFB. In his career he’s thrown for 2,844 yards 19 TDs 9 INTs while completing 63.9% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 182 yards 4 TDs.

38. Jackson Arnold – Oklahoma

• Arnold has a lot of potential and has an opportunity to be a very good college QB in the next few years. Being a first year starter in the SEC won’t be easy but Arnold has the arm talent to make an immediate impact. Last season as a Freshman he threw for 563 yards 4 Touchdowns 3 INTs while completing 63.8% of his passes. He also rushed for 116 yards 1 TD.

37. Taylen Green – Arkansas

• Green transfers in from Boise State and the Razorbacks are hoping he can take another step in his development. He’s an extremely athletic QB who needs to fine tune his passing skills. In his career he’s thrown for 3,794 yards 25 TDs 15 INTs while completing 59.4% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1,026 yards 19 Touchdowns.

36. TJ Finley – WKU

• Finley basically rejuvenated his career last season playing for Texas State. Before 2023 he had bounced around some SEC programs without ever making an impact. Last season he showcased his talent throwing for 3,439 yards 24 Touchdowns 8 INTs while completing an impressive 67.4% of his passes. He also rushed for 69 yards 5 TDs.

35. Garrett Nussmeier – LSU

• Some people will think 35 is too low and while it could be I believe it’s correct for now. I believe Nussmeier could end the season as a Top 20 QB but it’s still a lot of unknowns. In his career he’s thrown for 1,720 yards 11 TDs 7 INTs while only completing 58.9% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1 TD.

34. DeQuan Finn – Baylor

• Finn is an excellent addition for Baylor in my opinion and one of the most underrated transfer QBs heading into 2024. In his career at Toledo he threw for 7,079 yards 63 Touchdowns 23 INTs while also rushing for 1,837 yards 25 Touchdowns.

33. KJ Jefferson – UCF

• Jefferson had an outstanding career as an Arkansas Razorback and I believe he will excel for UCF in 2024. The Big 12 has a lot of good teams who will compete for a playoff spot and if Jefferson plays good enough that spot could go to UCF. In his career he’s thrown for 7,911 yards 67 Touchdowns 18 INTs while completing 65.1% of his passes. He’s also a big rushing threat with 1,876 yards 21 Touchdowns.

32. Will Rogers – Washington

• Rogers transfers into UW after a long career with Mississippi State. In his career he’s thrown for 12,315 yards 94 Touchdowns 28 INTs while completing 69.3% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 2 TDs but isn’t a viable runner.

31. Preston Stone – SMU

• I believe Stone is one of the most overlooked QBs in all of College Football. He was a heralded recruit and when healthy he has the tools to be a Top 3 QB in the ACC. In his career he’s thrown for 3,609 yards 30 Touchdowns 7 INTs and rushed for 263 yards 6 TDs.

30. Aidan Chiles – Michigan State

• Chiles is at 30 based on potential and talent. He could very well end the season as a Top 10 QB, that’s how talented he is. Last season as a Freshman he threw for 309 yards 4 TDs 0 INTs and rushed for 79 yards 3 TDs.

29. Graham Mertz – Florida

• I’ll be honest, I didn’t think Mertz was a good pickup for the Gators when they landed him in the portal from Wisconsin but he proved me wrong last season. Mertz had the best season of his career in 2023 and his completion percentage improved from 57.3% in 2022 to an outstanding 72.9% last season. In his career he’s thrown for 8,308 yards 58 Touchdowns 29 INTs and rushed for 12 TDs.

28. Will Howard – Ohio State

• The Buckeyes have outstanding talent at QB but they brought in Will Howard for a reason, they wanted a veteran dual threat QB to lead the charge and give them some stability at the position. In his career he’s thrown for 5,786 yards 48 TDs 25 INTs and rushed for 921 yards 19 Touchdowns.

27. Avery Johnson – Kansas State

• I have Johnson ranked higher than his former teammate Will Howard for many reasons. He’s got more talent, more upside and he’s got more potential as a runner. Last season as a Freshman he threw for 479 yards 5 Touchdowns 0 INTs and rushed for 296 yards 7 TDs.

26. Joey Aguilar – Appalachian State

• Aguilar was incredible last season for the Mountaineers and he’s one of the top returning G5 QBs in CFB. Last season he threw for 3,757 yards 33 Touchdowns 10 INTs while completing 63.7% of his passes. He also rushed for 245 yards 3 TDs, I expect a big season from Aguilar in 2024.

25. DJ Uiagalelei – Florida State

• DJU improved a lot last season at Oregon State but I still feel like he’s just an above average QB, no where near elite or Top 10 which some people seem to consider him. In his career he’s thrown for 8,319 yards 57 TDs 24 INTs while completing 59.1% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1,132 yards 21 TDs.

24. Rocco Becht – Iowa State

• Becht was one of the best Freshman in CFB last season and gives Matt Campbell and Iowa State hope for the future. Last season he threw for 3,120 yards 23 Touchdowns 8 INTs and completed 62.9% of his passes. Becht also rushed for 63 yards 3 TDs. If Becht can take another step in his development the Cyclones could be serious contenders in the Big 12 in 2024.

23. Jordan McCloud – Texas State

• McCloud had an incredible season last year for JMU. He threw for 3,657 yards 35 Touchdowns 10 INTs while completing an impressive 68.2% of his passes. He’s also a rushing threat and he had 276 rushing yards 8 TDs in 2023.

22. Byrum Brown – USF

• Brown is a freakish athlete and one of the top running QBs in CFB. In his career he’s thrown for 3,696 yards 31 TDs 12 INTs while completing 65.4% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 988 yards 14 Touchdowns and caught 2 passes for 36 yards.

21. Haynes King – Georgia Tech

• King made a big impact last season and showed his Dual Threat Abilities. He does need to cut down on INTs and if he can do that he should be poised for a big 2024. Last season he threw for 2,842 yards 27 TDs 16 INTs while completing 61.6% of his passes. He also rushed for 737 yards 10 Touchdowns.

20. Drew Allar – PSU

• Allar is a QB who a lot of NFL Draft Scouts like and see potential with. He has the size and arm talent to possibly develop into a NFL QB. Right now I believe he has to show a lot more especially in big games. Last season he threw for 2,631 yards 25 TDs 2 INTs while completing 59.9% of his passes. He also rushed for 206 yards 4 TDs.

19. Conner Weigman – Texas A&M

• Weigman is better than a lot of casual fans want to believe. I believe with Mike Elko at the helm this season for the Aggies that Weigman will have his best season yet. In his career he’s thrown for 1,875 yards 16 Touchdowns 2 INTs and rushed for 160 yards 2 TDs.

18. Kyron Drones – Virginia Tech

• Drones made a big impact last season when he finally took over as QB1. He’s a Dual Threat QB with a freakish mixture of Speed/Strength. Last season he threw for 2,085 yards 17 Touchdowns 3 INTs and rushed for 818 yards 5 TDs.

17. Garrett Greene – West Virginia

• Going into the 2023 season I knew Greene was a good running QB but wasn’t sure how good he would be passing. After last season I realized he’s not a good running QB, he’s a GREAT running QB. Last season he rushed for 772 yards 13 Touchdowns averaging 6.4 ypc. In his career he’s rushed for 1,385 yards 22 TDs and caught 4 passes for 32 yards. Now back to the Passing part of his game, like I said I knew it was a lot of things he needed to improve on and heading into 2024 he still has some improvements to make. Last season he only completed 53.1% of his passes and that has to improve if WVU wants to win the Big12. In his career he’s thrown for 3,070 yards 21 TDs with only 7 INTs. If Greene can get his completion percentage to 60% or above I believe the Mountaineers could win the Big 12.

16. Seth Henigan – Memphis

• Henigan is the top QB in the AAC and you could make an argument for him being the top G5 QB in CFB. In his career he’s thrown for 10,764 yards 79 Touchdowns 25 INTs while completing 63.8% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 708 yards 9 TDs.

15. Grayson McCall – NC State

• McCall transfers in from Coastal Carolina with big expectations. In his career he’s thrown for 10,005 yards 88 Touchdowns 14 INTs while completing an incredible 69.9% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1,113 yards 18 Touchdowns.

14. Nico Iamaleava – Tennessee

• There’s a great chance that Iamaleava ends the season as a Top 5 QB in CFB, that’s how talented he is. Last season as a Freshman he threw for 314 yards 2 TDs 0 INTs and rushed for 71 yards 3 TDs.

13. Kaidon Salter – Liberty

• I was able to watch Salter play last season live and he didn’t disappoint. He has unreal athleticism and can also make big time throws. Last season he threw for 2,876 yards 32 Touchdowns with just 6 INTs and rushed for 1,089 yards 12 Touchdowns.

12. Riley Leonard – Notre Dame

• I hope Leonard can stay healthy for the Irish because he’s truly a scary QB for Defenses when they have to worry about him as a runner. In his career he’s thrown for 4,450 yards 24 Touchdowns 10 INTs and rushed for 1,224 yards 19 Touchdowns.

11. Cam Rising – Utah

• Rising missed last season with an injury but he’s back in 2024 to lead the Utes in the Big 12. In his career he’s thrown for 5,572 yards 46 Touchdowns while completing 64.1% of his passes, he’s also rushed for 953 yards 12 Touchdowns.

10. Jalen Milroe – Alabama

• A lot of people will have Milroe Top 7 or so but I believe 10 is a fair ranking. Last season he threw for 2,834 yards 23 Touchdowns 6 INTs while completing 65.8% of his passes. He also rushed for 531 yards 12 Touchdowns.

9. Jalon Daniels – Kansas

• Daniels has helped build the Jayhawks into a serious threat in football and I respect him for that. In his career he’s thrown for 4,297 yards 31 Touchdowns while completing 63.6% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 602 yards 13 Touchdowns. If he can stay healthy the Jayhawks have a good opportunity to win the Big 12

8. Cam Ward – Miami

Ward is my #1 ranked QB in the ACC in 2024. The Transfer from WSU will be drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and has a good opportunity to improve his draft stock if he can play well in Miami. At Washington State he threw for 6,968 yards 48 Touchdowns (16 INTs) while completing 65.5% of his passes. Ward also rushed for 202 yards 13 TDs.

7. Dillon Gabriel – Oregon

• Gabriel is a seasoned veteran who played for UCF & then Oklahoma. He’s an excellent addition for Dan Lanning to replace Bo Nix as the Ducks head into the BigTen. In his career he’s thrown for 14,865 yards 125 Touchdowns while completing 63.1% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1,060 yards 26 TDs and even has a Receiving TD.

6. Quinn Ewers – Texas

Ewers led the Longhorns to a CFP appearance last season and enters 2024 as a top 5-10 QB in CFB. In his career he’s thrown for 5,656 yards 37 Touchdowns 12 INTs while completing 64.3% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 23 yards 6 TDs.

5. Brady Cook – Missouri

• Cook enters the 2024 season as Top 5 QB in CFB for me. He had a big year in 2023 and established himself as a legit QB. In his career he’s thrown for 6,473 yards 38 Touchdowns 13 INTs while completing 66.6% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 986 yards 15 Touchdowns. Cook to Burden III for the TOUCHDOWN will be said multiple times in 2024.

4. Shedeur Sanders – Colorado

• Shedeur made the jump from the FCS to the FBS last season and looked spectacular. Last season he threw for 3,230 yards 27 Touchdowns with only 3 INTs while completing an excellent 69.3% of his passes. He also rushed for 4 TDs. What’s incredible about his stat line from 2023 is he was doing it behind an Offensive Line that was very bad. If Shedeur can get some protection from his OL in 2024 he could throw for over 4,000 yards 35 TDs in the Big12.

3. Noah Fifita – Arizona

• Fifita is one of my favorite QBs in CFB for 2024. This man decided to stay with Arizona when his Head Coach left for Washington and last season he was impressive on the field throwing for 2,869 yards 25 Touchdowns with just 6 INTs while completing an outstanding 72.4% of his passes. Arizona isn’t a team who can win the National Championship but Fifita to McMillan could be one of the best QB/WR duos in CFB for 2024.

2. Jaxson Dart – Ole Miss

• Dart is 6th or so on most 2024 Heisman Boards at +2000 odds and I actually believe that’s really good value. I believe Ole Miss will have a big season, make the CFP and that means Dart would have had an enormous season. He’s a Dual Threat QB who’s thrown for 7,691 yards 52 Touchdowns 21 INTs while completing 63.4% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 1,046 yards 11 Touchdowns and caught 1 pass for 15 yards.

1. Carson Beck – Georgia

• I was honestly in a long debate over Dart or Beck at #1 but it’s no denying that Beck is a deserving number one. In his career he’s thrown for 4,427 yards 30 Touchdowns while completing an incredible 71.2% of his passes. He’s also rushed for 175 yards 4 TDs.
