The transition to the Lance Taylor era at Western Michigan is officially in full swing as preparations for the kick-off on August 31 intensify. An important behind-the-scenes role has been filled in Taylor’s freshman staff roster, marking a significant milestone in the team’s off-season development.
A new director in the ranks
Western Michigan has managed to secure Gabriella Mazzie for the post of director of recruiting operations. Mazzie previously gained experience at Marist in the past as an assistant in recruitment operations.
Her introduction is a fine addition to the solid off-field team that the Broncos have assembled which includes key individuals Gaizka Crowley, Paige Robbins, and an array of younger coaches who are looking to make a name for themselves in the world of college football.
Anticipation brews with the countdown
As Western Michigan inches ever closer to their 2023 season-opener opposite Saint Francis University, the anticipation within the team and the fans alike is palpable – and for good reason. It isn’t just the lifting of the dreary July dead period that the fans are excited about, but also the intense recruitment and camp activities that filled the June calendar.
The program also promises quite a bit of excitement with some high-profile buy-games scheduled against Power 5 programs Syracuse, Iowa, and Mississippi State. These encounters will take place during the first month of the season itself. And if that wasn’t enough excitement for September already, they will also plunge into MACtion on September 23 with an away game at Toledo.
