Top 25
(25) Clemson 27 Appalachian State 20
• Clemson will be tested in this one as 17.5 point favorites. Appalachian State is my G5 pick to make the CFP and QB Joey Aguilar for the Mountaineers is a better player than Cade Klubnik in my opinion. Appalachian State has solid RBs, WRs and DLs and I expect them to make a big difference. Overall Clemson has more talent and an elite DL that could cause tons of disruption. I do believe Klubnik plays better in this game and I’m expecting a big game from Mafah at RB, Clemson wins a close one, Appalachian State covers ATS.
Syracuse 31 (23) Georgia Tech 28
• This is a coin flip game in my opinion and I struggled to make a prediction on it but my formula loves the Cuse +3 and I’ll take Syracuse to win outright. If Georgia Tech wins this game they’ll be 3-0 (2-0) in the ACC and sitting pretty.
(22) Louisville 49 Jacksonville State 17
• It’s possible I’m too low on how many points the Cards will score this week after Coastal Carolina put up 55 on Jax State last week in a slaughtering.
(21) Iowa 20 Iowa State 13
• The Cy-Hawk trophy is on the line this week in a game that should be competitive until the end. Iowa has dominant this series winning 7 of the last 8 and 8 of the last 10. I expect the Hawkeyes Defense to give Rocco Becht fits and force him into a turnover or two. Give me the Hawkeyes to win and cover the 2.5 points.
(20) Arizona 52 NAU 17
• Will Tetairoa McMillan have another 4 TD game? That’s what I’ll be checking for, Wildcats win big.
(19) Kansas 28 Illinois 27
• A lot of people are sleeping on the Illini in this one as 90% of ML bets are coming in on the Jayhawks. Illinois is a live home underdog and I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled off the upset as 5 point dogs.
(18) LSU 56 Nicholls 17
• LSU and Brian Kelly are steaming after losing to USC on Sunday Night and poor Nicholls will have to pay the price for it. I expect a huge game from Garrett Nussmeier and the receiving corps.
(17) Kansas State 27 Tulane 17
• Tulane is a really good team capable of big upset wins but I really like this Wildcats team and think the rushing attack combined with Avery Johnson at QB is a lethal combination and will be too much for the Green Wave.
(16) Oklahoma State 35 Arkansas 24
• Arkansas looked really really good last week winning 70-0 but let’s be real people, Arkansas Pine Bluff is a cupcake pushover. Meanwhile the Cowboys laid a whooping on South Dakota State the #1 ranked team in the FCS. I believe Oklahoma State is a much better and deeper team and will win and cover the spread this week. If the Razorbacks hope to pull off a big upset they’ll need Taylen Green to play turnover free and make some extradionary plays this week.
(15) Oklahoma 42 Houston 14
• I really liked what I witnessed from Jackson Arnold and the Sooners last week and I don’t see how the Cougars can slow down this offense. Oklahoma wins big!!!!
(14) Tennessee 38 (24) NC State 27
• In my predictions before the season I had Tennessee winning this game but thought it could be a 3 or 4 point game. After watching NC State last week I believe it could be a bigger margin of victory for the Vols. NC State really struggled vs Western Carolina and Nico Iamaleava and this Tennessee offense should give the Wolfpack major fits while the vols defense is going to create tons of pressure on NCSU which could possibly lead to Grayson McCall turning the ball over.
(13) USC 45 Utah State 14
• Miller Moss looked fantastic vs LSU and the Trojans Defense looked vastly improved. I expect USC to crusie in this game.
(12) Miami 66 FAMU 7
• The Canes looked incredible last week and while I absolutely love the FAMU Rattlers I just don’t see anything happening in this game except a blowout.
(11) Utah 34 Baylor 13
• Cam Rising and Brant Kuithe looked like they never missed a beat last week after a year off and the Utes have some weapons at WR I really like in Dorian Singer and Money Parks. Baylor could be in line for some upset wins this year with DeQuan Finn at QB but the Utes are too experienced and deep for a letdown to happen this week vs BU.
(9) Missouri 49 Buffalo 10
• Missouri is just cruising right now against these inferior opponents and I expect another huge win vs UB.
(8) Penn State 42 Bowling Green 13
• I really like what Coach Loeffler is doing at Bowling Green but the Falcons are no match for the Nittany Lions who dismantled WVU last week in Morgantown.
(7) Oregon 45 Boise State 21
• Last week was concerning for me watching how the Boise State defense was shredded by Georgia Southern and I don’t expect the Ducks will have any problem scoring in this one. However the Oregon O-Line was also a concern and Boise State has one of the top pass rushers in CFB in Ahmed Hassanein who could wreak havoc. I fully expect the Ducks to try and shutdown RB Ashton Jeanty and make Boise State try and beat them through the air. Oregon is much better than how they played in Week 1 vs Idaho and I expect them to get back on track and show the nation they’re legit contenders this season.
(6) Ole Miss 56 Middle Tennessee 14
• Jaxson Dart and the Rebels shouldn’t have a problem scoring vs the Blue Raiders defense, I’m more interested to see how Ole Miss does vs Nicholas Vattiato and the MTSU offense in this game.
(5) Notre Dame 40 Northen Illinois 10
• The Irish were impressive last week vs Texas A&M and proved to everyone they’re a legit threat this season. The Irish Secondary is 🔒🔒🔒 and NIU won’t have any success throwing but the Huskies do have an elite RB in Antario Brown who I expect them to feed the ball to. The Irish have a really good rushing attack with Price & Love and they should find success in this one vs NIU.
(4) Alabama 42 USF 17
• Last season USF was tied at Halftime 3-3 with Alabama and the Crimson Tide ended up winning 17-3. I expect USF QB Byrum Brown to give Alabama fits but the Crimson Tide have too much talent for the Bulls to keep it relatively close this season even though I do have USF covering the massive 31.5 point spread.
(3) Texas 24 (10) Michigan 10
• Michigan has an outstanding defense and this will be no easy task for the Longhorns on the road. The concerns I have for Michigan are at QB and WR. Michigan does have an elite TE in Colston Loveland but the WRs were unimpressive last week. QBs Davis Warren and Alex Orji will struggle vs the Longhorns and I believe the only chance Michigan has in this game is by great defensive play and establishing the run. I trust Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns to ultimately get a big win this weekend in Ann Arbor.
(2) Ohio State 49 WMU 14
• WMU isn’t a horrible team by any means but the Buckeyes have way too much firepower for WMU to keep it close, give me Ohio State by five TDs.
(1) Georgia 59 Tennessee Tech 0
• The Dawgs could probably win this game 80-0 if they wanted but it will probably be no need to keep the starters in past Halftime or the third quarter most likely.
