Introduction

We’ve created a 130-team bracket using ESPN’s FPI as our ranking system.

“But, anyone can create a bracket, how will the games be simulated?” Great question; NCAA Game Sim was used.

For each game on the bracket, the matchup was simulated once and every day a write-up will be done.

For the matchup, player statistics will be simulated and included in the write-ups.

Finally, thanks to the NCAA Game Sim premium membership, we’ll show the results of doing 100 simulations all at once. This is to see if a given result was more towards the expected side or if a given result was more towards the upset or luckier side.

All of the results have been simulated and tabulated, so at the time of writing the introduction, the results are already in.

This is designed to be fun, so please enjoy.

From Georgia to Massachusetts, here’s the 130-team bracket:

Match 87

(3) Arkansas vs. (6) SMU

How Arkansas Got Here: 48-13 win over (14) San Jose State

How SMU Got Here: 45-24 win over (11) Miami University

There were 11 touchdowns scored in this one — 10 of them passing.

Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson was 16-for-21 passing with 316 yards and five touchdowns.

SMU quarterback Tanner Mordecai was 31-for-48 with 378 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception.

It ultimately was the Mordecai interception that did SMU in. Down 41-35 with three minutes left and at the Arkansas 35-yard line, the interception was returned to the SMU 31-yard line. Seven plays later, running back Trelon Smith would score a dagger of a touchdown to give Arkansas a 13-point lead with mere seconds remaining.

Arkansas was a little sharper offensively and forced a costly turnover late. The Razorbacks win, 48-35.

In 100 simulations, Arkansas won 79 by an average margin of 34.2-21.

Winner’s Next Matchup: (7) Fresno State

Tomorrow’s Matchup: (3) Wake Forest vs. (6) North Carolina
