Head coach Eric Musselman and Arkansas basketball picked up its third 5-star McDonald’s All-American on Monday. During the McDonald’s All-American three-point contest, Anthony Black announced that he would be committing to Arkansas.

Black is a 6-foot-7 point guard out of Duncanville, Tex. He is the No. 1 point guard in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Black is not only a basketball star, but he also played football and competed in the high jump and triple jump in high school.

He has incredible length and great basketball knowledge. Black has received comparisons to former Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham.

Black chose Arkansas over the NBA’s G-League, Gonzaga, and Oklahoma State. The Razorbacks are right behind Duke with the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation for 2022. Black joins 5-stars Nick Smith Jr. and Jordan Walsh, and 4-stars Darrian Ford, Barry Dunning, and Joseph Pinion.

Arkansas head hoops coach Eric Musselman now has three committed McDonald’s All-Americans.

Most analysts did not have Black choosing Arkansas until Monday morning. His decision became easier after watching Arkansas defeat No. 16 Tennessee in-person last month.

Arkansas struggled at times this season as it did not have a true point guard, but Black is expected to take over. His commitment comes after the Razorbacks’ Elite Eight run, where they lost to Duke on Saturday night.
