Demari Colbert is a 2023 wide receiver prospect from Canyon View High School in Arizona. He is expected to make a huge impact this year for head coach Nick Gehrts.
Colbert fits well into Coach Gehrts’ ‘West Coast’ style of offense and has shown a great work ethic this offseason. Colbert is a two-sport athlete, excelling on the track in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4×100 relay.
Last year, Colbert was named team MVP and a first-team all-region wide receiver. He also received the Joe Selleh Award. The annual award recognizes outstanding athletic achievement in the Tempe Union High School District.
Colbert and Gehrts have developed an excellent rapport. The two are working together to develop the Canyon View offense.
“I had a chance to see Colbert this offseason at the Lake Forest Camp and he looked amazing,” said Coach Lou Perrone of the well-known recruiting service, My Recruits.
Colbert is getting recruited currently by several Division II schools such as Minot State and New Mexico Highlands and a handful of D-III schools. Colbert currently holds a 3.6 grade-point average and is definitely a top all-around prospect for this season.
