In this day and age, we understand how many great quarterbacks there are, but sometimes you stumble on one that really wows you.
Say hello to Giordan Hanks out of Mesa, Ariz. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, Hanks (@GiordanHanks on Twitter) is a freak athlete with a shotgun for an arm. His arm and lightning quick release got the attention of a lot of coaches during recent camps.
For Mesa Mountain View High School, Hanks finished his sophomore season with 1,217 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes. He added 365 rushing yards. Many Pac-12 and Ivy league coaches already have Hanks on the radar.
Hanks is also currently working with one of the top private recruiters in the country in Lou Perrone (@CoachPerrone on Twitter). Perrone runs the “My Recruits” service.
The next camp for Hanks will be the National Prep Showcase National Combine in Las Vegas from Feb. 3 to Feb. 6. Camp Director Gary Howard is one of the most respected scouts in the country. He has high praise for Hanks’ ability.
“We saw Hanks at the Arizona Combine last year and all of us we’re blown away,” Howard said. “There is no telling what this young man’s going to do at this year’s nationals.”
Scouts everywhere seem to agree that Hanks is a rising star.
