On National Signing Day, kicker Brock Funk committed to Central Arkansas.

Currently listed as a 4.5-star prospect (85th overall) by nationalkickingrankings.com, Funk elected to stay in-state. He’ll be joining a program with three FCS playoff appearances since 2016.

1. What major/degree are you hoping to purse in college?

Engineering or accounting.

2. Favorite football memory?

I actually have 2. My very first varsity FG vs. Bentonville West was a 43 yarder. It was going to be a 38 yarder but we had a penalty. I nailed it! The next is my 22yarder against Trinity Christian that put us up by 12. Trinity was a top ranked TX team where Deion Sanders was a coach and his son, Shadeur, was the QB. We won 44-40.

3. Did you ever visit Central Arkansas before committing to them?

Yes. I went to 2 kicking camps at UCA.

4. What stuck out to you about playing at UCA?

They are D1, close to home, and a great school.

5. How do you feel about playing on a field that is alternating colors?

I think the field is awesome and very unique. I have kicked on it several times during camps. I can’t wait to see it on game days!

6. What was the ultimate reason to attend UCA?

Degree programs.

7. If you could talk to one former Central Arkansas Bear, who went to the professional level (NFL/CFL/etc) which player would it be?

I am not really familiar those players but I would love to talk to any former Bear in the NFL.
