Recruiting Update: Florida State

Florida State currently has 16 prospects committed to its 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 17 in the 247Sports’ Composite rankings. Here is a list of the committed prospects (247Sports’ Composite star rankings):

  • Five-star WR Hykeem Williams
  • Four-star DE Keldric Faulk
  • Four-star OT Lucas Simmons
  • Four-star LB Blake Nichelson
  • Four-star DT Keith Sampson Jr.
  • Four-star DE Lamont Green Jr.
  • Four-star RB Samuel Singleton
  • Four-star QB Brock Glenn
  • Four-star WR Vandrevius Jacobs
  • Three-star S Kenton Kirkland
  • Three-star WR Darren Lawrence
  • Three-star JUCO DE Jaden Jones
  • Three-star DE Tavion Gadson
  • Three-star CB Ja’Bril Rawls
  • Three-star S Quindarrius Jones
  • Three-star LB DeMarco Ward

However, the Seminoles are not finished acquiring high-caliber prospects on the recruiting trail. While the Seminoles have benefited from the transfer portal, they would like to bolster position rooms such as the offensive line, defensive line and defensive backfield within the high school level first. Here are a few targeted recruits to monitor as Early Signing Period begins on December 21st:

  • Four-star RB Cedric Baxter Jr. (Texas commit)
  • Four-star RB Michael Mitchell (Utah commit; have not offered yet)
  • Four-star WR Jalen Brown (LSU commit)
  • Four-star WR Micah Mays (Wake Forest commit; have not offered yet)
  • Four-star OT DJ Chester (LSU commit)
  • Four-star IOL Keyshawn Blackstock
  • Three-star OT Christopher Otto
  • Three-star JUCO OT Elijah Philippe
  • Four-star DE Rueben Bain
  • Four-star DT Jordan Hall
  • Four-star JUCO DT Derick Hunter
  • Four-star CB Damari Brown
  • Four-star CB CJ Blocker
  • Four-star S Isaac Smith
  • Four-star ATH Kylen Webb (Clemson commit)
  • Three-star ATH Edwin Joseph

It would seem as though, one could reasonably expect, the Seminoles would like to attempt to acquire at least four high school prospects to finish out their recruiting class and then fill the rest of their remaining positional needs with transfers.
