The #14 Florida State men’s basketball team is starting the season off on the right foot. With wins over instate rival Florida and Tulane, the Noles are looking to move to 3-0 with a win tonight. The tonight’s opponent is the Canisius Golden Griffins. The Golden Griffins, 217th in the nation in RPI, hail from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and are currently 1-1 on the season. The Griffins started out with an 82-73 win over Bucknell, but fell to 1-2 Albany 75-66 this past Saturday.

Canisius is led by sophomore guard Takal Molson. Molson is the biggest offensive threat for the Golden Griffins, averaging 24.5 points per game. Junior guard Isaiah Reese averages 10.5 points per game to go along with 7 rebounds per game.

For the ‘Noles, look for them to be led by the three-headed monster of PJ Savoy, Trent Forrest, and Terance Mann. These three are averaging a combined 45 points per game, and compliment each other well. A total of eleven ‘Noles have already found the scoreboard this season, and it is almost a guarantee that these same eleven ‘Noles will be making buckets again tonight. Terance Mann is coming off a double-double against Tulane, so look for the senior to continue his good work tonight.

The Seminoles will look to continue their good work being disruptive on defense. They average 17 turnovers per game, and so far, it appears that Canisius will be happy to oblige, turning the ball over 10 times per contest on their own. FSU does need to cut down on their own turnovers, as they average 15 per game. As it’s the final game before heading into an in-season tournament, look for the ‘Noles to try to clean up some of these errors.

Hamilton does like to run a deep roster before ACC play starts, so watch for some of the young guys, like Devin Vassell and RaiQuan Davis, to get even more burn against the Golden Griffins. FSU is currently an 18-point favorite.
