Best spots for a FCS win over P4 teams and G5 teams in 2024
• It’s 17 games here, I wouldn’t be surprised if three or four of these actually happen. These aren’t official predictions from me I’m just pointing out where upsets could happen.
#1 South Dakota State vs #17 Oklahoma State
• The Jackrabbits are a machine in the #FCS but Oklahoma State is a team capable of winning the Big12 and a Darkhorse #CFP team. I believe SDSU keeps this close but Oklahoma State pulls away late and wins.
• Richmond is a Top 15 #FCS team and they actually beat UVA 37-20 in 2016. The Hoos won’t be overlooking the spiders again and should take care of business here.
• Tarleton State is an intriguing team and fringe Top 25 team who could keep it close with Baylor in the first half.
• NDSU is a popular upset pick over Colorado and they return star QB Cam Miller who’s thrown for 6,470 yards and rushed for 1,646 yards in his career. Colorado has too much talent to lose this game in my opinion ane while NDSU is a trendy pick I’d gladly lay the number with Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs.
• Villanova is a team the Terps DO NOT want to sleep on. The Wildcats are a Top 10 FCS program and QB Connor Watkins is a Dual Threat playmaker. Maryland will be a 14 point favorite or more in this one.
• South Dakota is a Top 5 FCS team and they’ll give the Badgers a run for their money, at least early on.
• Kennesaw State moves up to the FBS this season and UT Martin is a fringe FCS Top 25 team. This might not even be considered an upset by gameday as UT Martin could be a slight favorite.
• I’d give Lafayette a 30-40% chance to knock off Buffalo.
• Fresno State will have a good team in the #MountainWest this season and should take care of Sacramento State but the Hornets are a Top 10 FCS team that can’t be overlooked.
• I’ll take Montana State right now to defeat New Mexico. The Bobcats return QB Tommy Mellott who’s thrown for over 2,500 yards and rushed for over 2,000 yards in his career and they could possibly be the favorite in this game.
• William & Mary is a Top 15 FCS team who can’t be overlooked and I doubt the Chanticleers will. Coastal will most likely win this game but the Tribe could keep it competitive.
• Chattanooga is a Top 10 FCS team and Georgia State is losing tons and tons of production. This is a great opportunity for a FCS over FBS win.
• Central Arkansas is a really good FCS program and ranked Top 15 and they’d love nothing more than to knock off the in state Red Wolves. Arkansas State is led by QB Jalen Raynor and they have an outstanding WR corps which will be too much for UCA to handle.
