The athletic world better prepare as four-star safety, Brandon Jacob, readies himself for his senior season. With over 40 offers on the table from most, if not all, of the significant programs, Jacob surely has earned intense attention.

With several schools vying for his commitment, Maryland, which extended him an offer significantly early during his freshman year, now holds this honor. Jacob has toured the campus six times and found himself increasingly drawn to the school with each visit.

After careful consideration and analysis of all offers, Jacob has affirmed his commitment to Maryland, choosing them over heavy hitters like Texas A&M, Florida, and Miami.

When he initiated the process, he had anticipated ending up at Miami or Florida State. Over the last few months, however, his interactions with the Maryland coaching staff started to shift his perspective. The decision was difficult, but to Jacob, Maryland felt like the best fit.

The Maryland coaching squad played a significant role in Jacob’s decision. Head Coach Mike Locksley, special teams coordinator James Thomas Jr., and safeties coach Zac Spavital all made incredible impressions. He felt prioritized right from the beginning, a feeling that was consistent throughout his recruitment process.

Though the decision was far from easy, his official visit to Maryland solidified his choice. Despite having positive experiences in other official and unofficial visits, Jacob felt a discernible difference when he visited Maryland.

The sense of comfort and the overall vibe of the place made him believe that University Park, Maryland was home.
