Fifth Quarter’s 2023 NFL Draft Profile for Georgia Tech’s Hassan Hall is one that shouldn’t be overlooked. Running back may now be a devalued position in the NFL, but Hall has proven that he has what it takes to make an impact at the next level.
As a transfer last season, Hall had to fight for carries amongst teammates Dontae Smith and Dylan McDuffie. Nevertheless, he persevered and triumphed, ultimately becoming Georgia Tech’s lead back and finishing the season as the team’s top rusher with 521 yards.
Despite facing one of the worst offensive lines in the country, Hall managed to put up numbers and demonstrate his potential as a dynamic runner. However, it was during his freshman season at Louisville when he truly shone. Hall had 70 carries for 303 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 4.3 yards per carry, a solid start for a newcomer.
In his 2019 season, Hall set personal bests in yards, carries, and touchdowns with 501 yards and five touchdowns on 108 attempts. The following year, Hall’s carries decreased, and he couldn’t replicate his 2019 numbers. Despite this, he had a standout game during the 2021 season against Virginia, rushing for 162 yards on just 14 carries.
Hall may not have been invited to the 2023 NFL Combine, but he still managed to impress at his pro day. He ran a sub 4.5 forty-yard dash, jumped an impressive 37 inches, had a 10-foot, 10-inch broad jump, and put up a respectable 18 reps on the bench press. Hall left an impression on the NFL scouts in attendance, showcasing his explosive athleticism.
Hall’s future in the NFL is unclear, but his talent and dedication are not to be ignored. Teams looking for a dynamic playmaker in the later rounds of the draft or as an unproven free agent should seriously consider Hassan Hall.
