The SEC is rolling into the postseason with eleven of their fourteen teams bowl eligible. With Texas A&M defeating LSU it knocked LSU out of contention for the Sugar Bowl. They could beat Georgia to claim the SEC Championship and make the Sugar Bowl that way but we all doubt that is going to happen. We do project three SEC teams to make New Year Six Bowl games. The question will be who gets the Sugar Bowl. Most project Alabama to stay ranked ahead of Tennessee despite losing the head to head matchup. After that there are a ton of bowl tie ins that most SEC fans should be happy with. I would say for most reading this SEC Bowl Predictions article they just want their team to steer clear of Birmingham.
SEC Bowl Predictions
Peach (CFP): Georgia vs. USC
Sugar: Alabama vs. Kansas State
Orange: Tennessee vs. North Carolina
Citrus: Mississippi State vs Illinois
ReliaQuest: LSU vs Iowa
Music City Bowl: Kentucky vs Minnesota
Gator Bowl: South Carolina vs Clemson
Las Vegas Bowl: Ole Miss vs Oregon State
Texas Bowl: Missouri vs Oklahoma
Liberty Bowl: Arkansas vs Texas Tech
Birmingham Bowl: Florida vs ECU
If some of these bowl games can capitalize on possible rivalry game matchups they will be staring major profits right in the face. If Clemson trips up in the ACC Championship game they could be seeing South Carolina again. That would be a major win for the Gator Bowl. Just like the Liberty Bowl could have the opportunity to renew a southwest conference rivalry between Arkansas and Texas Tech. We have to remember bowl games care about one thing, profit.
