Georgia Tech Athletics Finds New Revenue Stream for 2023 Season
Georgia Tech has announced a new presenting sponsor for its upcoming spring football game, set for April 15 at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The game will be presented by Georgia’s Own Credit Union, marking the first time since 2019 that the event has had a presenting sponsor. The financial institution, headquartered in Atlanta, will also receive similar acknowledgement for other events, including fan day and a student welcome event, as well as promotion on the LED billboard atop its downtown headquarters.
Georgia’s Own CEO Dave Preter expressed excitement at the partnership, citing the organization’s roots in Atlanta and the long-standing success of Georgia Tech athletics. “We look forward to rooting them on this season and for years to come,” Preter said in a statement.
Tech’s deal with Legends, its corporate partnerships and multimedia rights manager, has already facilitated this new revenue stream for the athletics department. The sponsorship not only supports the upcoming spring game but also extends through the 2023 football season, including promotion for each home game at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
This marks a pivotal moment for Georgia Tech Athletics as the department strives to find new and innovative ways to generate revenue. As costs associated with college sports continue to rise, finding corporate partnerships and sponsorships is becoming increasingly important, and the Georgia’s Own Credit Union deal is just the latest example of this trend.
This revenue opportunity not only allows the department to invest in its student-athletes and programs, but also serves as a prime opportunity for local businesses to partner with a well-respected and beloved institution in the community.
With the Georgia’s Own partnership in place, Georgia Tech is poised to build its brand and enhance the fan experience at home games and events across the board. As season ticket sales for the upcoming 2023 football season increase and excitement builds around the renewed football program, the collaboration between Tech and Georgia’s Own serves as a great start to next season.
The Yellow Jackets will look to build off their momentum in the coming months as they prepare for what promises to be a thrilling football season. As always, fans and alumni alike will be eager to see the team take the field and compete at the highest level — and the new presenting sponsor only adds to the anticipation.
