Brent Key, Georgia Tech’s head football coach, is making significant moves to strengthen the Yellow Jackets’ off-the-field staff. As part of his plan to enhance the team’s roster, he has appointed a new director of on-campus recruiting.

Kimberly Smith will join the Yellow Jackets after previously holding the position of director of recruiting operations for the Kansas Jayhawks under head coach Lance Leipold. Her recruitment is part of Key’s strategic efforts to bolster Georgia Tech’s recruiting staff and overall performance.

Smith is recognized for her impeccable organizational skills and her keen eye for detail, which will be vital assets to the Yellow Jackets’ recruiting strategy moving forward.

Brent Key assumed the head coach role at Georgia Tech last fall, taking over from the dismissed Geoff Collins. Key’s leadership has already shown promising results, as the team finished their last eight games with a 4-4 record. The Yellow Jackets scored four victories against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents, including an upset win against Pittsburgh.

Georgia Tech’s 2023 season will kick off with a highly anticipated Friday night showdown against ACC rival Louisville on September 1st.

With the addition of Smith to the Yellow Jackets’ staff, Georgia Tech’s football program is poised for further growth and success in the coming seasons.
