With the start of fall camp set for Aug. 5, Florida Atlantic quarterback Chris Robison is not listed on the team’s camp roster. According to an FAU athletics spokesperson, Robison is no longer with the program.
Last season, Robison completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 3,701 yards and 28 touchdowns. In last season’s Boca Raton Bowl, Robison finished with the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Offensive MVP after throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Robison has tallied for 6,234 passing yards and 40 touchdowns over his two-year FAU career.
Robison was originally a four-star prospect coming out of the 2017 class. Ranked as the seventh-best quarterback in the 2017 class, Robison committed and signed to Oklahoma. Robison was later released from Oklahoma for a violation of team rules. In August 2017, Robison enrolled at FAU.
The QBs on the Roster
Redshirt junior quarterback Nick Tronti is likely to take over as the team’s starting quarterback. In 2019, Tronti threw just 22 passes. On those 22 passes, Tronti threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Tronti added 239 yards and two touchdowns on 51 carries. Tronti is a former Indiana quarterback.
Former Kent State quarterback Justin Agner could also compete for the starting job. Over his FAU career, Agner has thrown just five passes, all of which came in FAU’s loss to Ohio State last season.
Javion Posey is likely on the outside looking in for the starting job. Posey spent all of last season at wide receiver after moving there during fall camp. Posey saw limited action at wide receiver, recording just one catch in FAU’s bowl win.
Willie Taggart Jr. was FAU’s lone quarterback signee in the 2020 recruiting class. Expect Taggart Jr. to redshirt this season.
Cordell Littejohn was also a wide receiver last season, though has moved back to quarterback, according to the 2020 online roster.
This is a developing situation. As more information becomes available, the article will be updated.
