FSU OL Bless Harris Out for the Season

Florida State’s horrific injury luck along the offensive line continues.

Head coach Mike Norvell announced at Wednesday morning’s media session that redshirt junior offensive tackle Bless Harris is out for remainder of the season with an injury. A transfer from Lamar, Harris started the season opener against Duquesne — a 47-7 victory for the Seminoles.

This is now the second offensive linemen to be lost for the season with an injury. Center and Wisconsin transfer Kayden Lyles was injured in the preseason.

While the Seminoles brought in 10 new faces along the offensive line this offseason, concern is starting to creep in.

During fall camp, the Seminoles had eight offensive linemen that most individuals felt would make their way into the rotation: Dillan Gibbons, Robert Scott Jr., Lyles, Maurice Smith, Darius Washington, Harris, D’Mitri Emmanuel and Jazston Turnetine. In addition to the two injuries, Smith and Washington are currently less than 100%.

Offensive line coach Alex Atkins may now have to rely upon younger players to help with depth. Thomas Shrader, Bryson Estes and Julian Armella could be forced into action earlier than expected.
