Coach Mania: Every Head Coach Update in College Football

After a wild season of college football, the coach carousel hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Many previously vacant post game positions have now been filled by sports legends and newcomers alike.

Changes in the Big Ten

The Big Ten has seen significant changeups this season. Northwestern will introduce a new face to the team, details of which are yet to be revealed, for now defensive coordinator David Braun will be the interim coach. Over at Nebraska, the sideline will now be commanded by former NFL coach Matt Rhule, known for his unbelievable developmental skills. Ryan Walters is the new face at Purdue.

ASU and Further South

Kenny Dillingham, who previously served as the offensive coordinator at Florida State & Oregon, is heading south to take over as head coach of Arizona State University. Moving east, Auburn has appointed Hugh Freeze, former Liberty head coach, as their field commander. Just a few miles away, Georgia Tech also made a significant addition to their coaching staff with Brent Key.

FAU, USF, Texas State, and North Texas Get New Faces

Florida Atlantic University has also overhauled its coaching staff with the addition of Tom Herman, while Alex Golesh is the new head coach at the University of Southern Florida. Meanwhile, Texas State is putting its faith in GJ Kinne to lead the team in the coming season, and North Texas will now be led by Eric Morris, who brings a wealth of experience.

A Mix of New and Familiar Faces

Deion Sanders, former NFL player, will now take the reins at Colorado, and Jamey Chadwell is moving in at Liberty. Coastal Carolina has welcomed Tim Beck as their new head coach. Scott Satterfield is at Cincinnati’s helm, with Kevin Wilson will be leading Tulsa.

Midwest Shakeup

In the Midwest, where football traditions run deep, change is also in the air. Jeff Brohm is moving in to lead Louisville, with Lance Taylor commanding Western Michigan. Kenni Burns is the new face at Kent State, and Brian Newberry will be helming the Navy. Out west, Stanford welcomes Troy Taylor, who brings a progressive perspective on the offensive game.
