Fifth Quarter has learned that Boise State has offered a scholarship to former St. John’s forward O’Mar Stanley and he has committed to the Broncos.
According to reports, Stanley received offers from St. John’s, Ole Miss, Tulsa, and UNC Greensboro out of high school.
Stanley is a physical presence in the paint and isn’t afraid to dive for loose balls or throw his body around to grab rebounds. He also has the ability to hit a three-pointer when called upon.
While Stanley won’t be able to replace the departing Naje Smith, he has the potential to make an impact in the rotation. It’s likely that he’ll share minutes with Cam Martin and potentially Mo Sylla if he has a strong summer.
The addition of Stanley means that Boise State won’t have to rely solely on Tyson Degenhart to handle the tough work in the paint every night.
With his toughness and versatility, Stanley could be an important piece for the Broncos in the upcoming season.
