Introduction

We’ve created a 130-team bracket using ESPN’s FPI as our ranking system.

“But, anyone can create a bracket, how will the games be simulated?” Great question; NCAA Game Sim was used.

For each game on the bracket, the matchup was simulated once and every day a write-up will be done.

For the matchup, player statistics will be simulated and included in the write-ups.

Finally, thanks to the NCAA Game Sim premium membership, we’ll show the results of doing 100 simulations all at once. This is to see if a given result was more towards the expected side or if a given result was more towards the upset or luckier side.

All of the results have been simulated and tabulated, so at the time of writing the introduction, the results are already in.

This is designed to be fun, so please enjoy.

From Georgia to Massachusetts, here’s the 130-team bracket:

Match 83

(3) Penn State vs. (6) Louisiana

How Penn State Got Here: 31-27 win over (14) UNLV

How Louisiana Got Here: 30-7 win over (11) East Carolina

After narrowly beating UNLV in the first round, Penn State bounced back strong in this one.

Louisiana quarterback Levi Lewis was held to 22-for-45 passing with only 203 yards and a touchdown.

The game’s leading rusher was Louisiana running back Emani Bailey, who ran for 66 yards on just nine carries.

Penn State’s MVP for this game was running back Keyvone Lee. Even though Lee only averaged 4.6 yards per carry on his 11 attempts, he did score three touchdowns.

Quarterback Sean Clifford also was fine enough to keep the Nittany Lions alive. He was 16-for-34 with 286 yards and a touchdown.

Lee’s three touchdowns and the Penn State defense shutting down Lewis were the difference. The Nittany Lions win, 31-17.

In 100 simulations, Penn State won 78 of them by an average margin of 26.2-15.7.

Winner’s Next Matchup: (10) Memphis

Tomorrow’s Matchup: (3) Ole Miss vs. (6) Virginia
