2024 #BigTen Predictions
Championship Game 🏆
• Ohio State over Oregon
#CFBPlayoff Teams
• Ohio State
• Oregon
• Penn State
● I have Ohio State losing at Oregon on October 12th but getting revenge in the B10 Championship game. I LOVE what the Buckeyes have at RB, WR, on the D-Line and in the Secondary. My biggest concerns are obviously QB, Will Howard is a solid college player but can he complete tight passes vs good teams and carry the Buckeyes if the run game is down? I’m not sure he can but the Buckeyes do have a talented QB room of young players behind him who just need some experience.
● I love what Oregon has this season and honestly think if Georgia or Ohio State doesn’t win the National Championship then the Ducks would be my third choice. Dillon Gabriel is in at QB, Evan Stewart comes over from Texas A&M at WR, the RB room looks great, the TEs are solid and the Defense should be Top 25. Tez Johnson returns at WR and he’s a Top 5 WR in #CFB for me. The Ducks do have to play Boise State in Non Conference play so that will be an intriguing game. In conference the Ducks get the Buckeyes at home, Travel to Michigan and Wisconsin and get Washington at home.
● Michigan was my preseason National Championship pick last season and they got it done. The Wolverines lose tons of production though heading into 2024 but also return some of the best players in #CFB like RB Donovan Edwards, TE Colston Loveland, DT Mason Graham, DT Kenneth Grant, DE Josaiah Stewart & CB Will Johnson. The question marks for me mainly comes down to QB, Alex Orji is a strong, physical & athletic QB but we haven’t seen him pass much. I know he has a big arm but can he made precision passes in coverage? The schedule for Michigan isn’t easy. The Wolverines open up vs Fresno State who’s a solid G5 team, they play Texas in Week 2, get USC, Minnesota and Oregon at home and travel to Ohio State, Washington and an Indiana team who drastically improved through the portal.
● Penn State wins vs teams who they have more talent than and loses to the elite teams like Michigan & Ohio State. They’re hoping Drew Allar can take another step in his game and change that narrative this season. PSU opens up on the road vs a solid WVU squad and that won’t be an easy task. The Nittany Lions play USC, Wisconsin and Minnesota on the road and get Ohio State, Washington and Maryland at home. DE Abdul Carter is one of the top pass rushers in the nation, the RB unit is very good and TE Tyler Warren is one of the most underrated TEs in #CFB. The Talent is here for PSU, anything less than a #CFBPlayoff appearance would be a failure.
● I have NEBRASKA GOING 8-4 (6-3) in #BigTen play, go ahead, screenshot it, laugh, tell your friends because the Cornhuskers are capable of getting it done. They have a Defensive Line I’d rank Top 15 in CFB, a talented True Freshman QB Dylan Raiola who could have some growing pains but overall I believe he has a big breakout season. The schedule sets up where Nebraska could legit start 5-0, 6-1, 7-0 although I have them starting 5-2.
● Iowa will once again have a dominant defense. The D-Line is elite, the Linebackers are elite and the secondary will also be very good. QB Cade McNamara is back after being injured last season and the Hawkeyes also added NU QB Transfer Brendan Sullivan. TE Luke Lachey is one of the best TEs in #CFB and if the offense can at least be Top 75ish this team could win 10 games or more.
● Indiana has a very favorable schedule, the easiest in the #BigTen actually and I expect the Hoosiers to take advantage of it. Indiana adds tons of productive transfers like QB Kurtis Rourke, RB Kaelon Black, WR Elijah Sarratt, TE Zach Horton, DT James Carpenter, CB Desmond Ponds and Safety Shawn Asbury. Don’t be surprised if IU wins 8 games.
● I really like Jonathan Smith as HC for MSU and QB Aidan Chiles is going to be a star but I’m expecting year one to be a rebuild.
