A second game involving a Power 5 team was postponed by COVID-19 on Friday.
Baylor’s 2020 season opener against Houston was postponed. Earlier in the week, North Carolina’s home day with Charlotte was called off.
Also postponed was Florida Atlantic’s opener at Georgia Southern.
Baylor has been widely speculated to be having COVID-19 issues. Now with the game called off, those reports unfortunately seem to be true. There is no word at this time about rescheduling.
This is the third postponement in just two days.
Lone Star No More
This is a tough blow for both programs. The contest was an extremely hyped Lone Star State showdown, especially for the Cougars. Houston’s scheduled contest against Memphis was also postponed after an outbreak in the Tigers’ locker room.
Neither Baylor or Houston has released a statement yet on the postponement.
If the Bears are able to resume play next week, they’ll host the Kansas Jayhawks inside McLane Stadium on Sept. 26.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are supposed to host North Texas next Saturday.
