Florida State received great news on Tuesday afternoon as South Carolina redshirt senior offensive lineman Jazston Turnetine committed and enrolled at FSU.

With this development, the Seminoles now have 84 scholarship players on their roster. That includes 19 scholarship offensive linemen.

  • Julian Armella, Fr.
  • Jaylen Early, Fr.
  • Qaeshon Sapp, Fr.
  • Daughtry Richardson, Fr.
  • Kanaya Charlton, Fr.
  • Antavious Woody, Fr.

“Jazston has tremendous size with great power and athleticism,” head coach Mike Norvell said in a statement. “His starting experience in big games and his skillset immediately increases the competition among our offensive line group.”

Turnetine appeared in 18 games with 10 starts, all at left tackle, over two seasons with Gamecocks. He started seven games in 2021. He had more than 600 snaps in the SEC.

This acquisition allows the Seminoles to have eight quality offensive linemen in their rotation: Dillan Gibbons, Kayden Lyles, D’Mitri Emmanuel, Bless Harris, Darius Washington, Maurice Smith, Robert Scott and Turnetine. It also prevents the Seminoles from having to play its underclassmen linemen such as Julian Armella, Jaylen Early, Qaeshon Sapp, Daughtry Richardson, Kanaya Charlton and Antavious Woody before they are ready to contribute.

The offensive line position group can potentially be classified as a strength heading into the 2022 season for the Seminoles. Offensive line coach Alex Atkins has now added 10 offensive line recruits and transfer prospects this offseason.
