Week 8 Predictions
**Top 25
(24) Michigan 24 (22) Illinois 20
• My formula actually says take Illinois +3.5 but I believe the Wolverines are the better team and especially on Defense. My biggest worry here would be that Illinois QB Luke Altmyer plays exceptionally well like he has all season and is able to pick the Wolverines apart. If Michigan can establish the rushing attack I believe they win a close one.
(23) Army 38 East Carolina 21
• Army is undefeated and QB Bryson Daily is in my Heisman Top 10, I expect them to keep rolling this week vs the Pirates.
(21) SMU 34 Stanford 20
• I have Stanford getting a backdoor cover here vs the spread but SMU keeps rolling in ACC play.
(19) Missouri 27 Auburn 20
• I believe Missouri is slightly overrated but still a better team than Auburn. I'm sure Auburn would win this game 9/10 times according to Hugh Freeze but I'll take the alpha nerd and Mizzou.
(17) Kansas State 31 West Virginia 27
• West Virginia is a scrappy team capable of winning this game but I have to go with the better team in Kansas State.
(16) Indiana 27 Nebraska 24
• This will be a very tough test for the Hoosiers and while I like the Cornhuskers to cover ATS I'm going with Indiana to keep the undefeated season going.
(14) Texas A&M 41 Mississippi State 17
• Mississippi State held their own last week vs Georgia but I still feel like this is a bad team. If the Aggies play a B+ game they'll win in a blowout.
(13) BYU 27 Oklahoma State 24
• My formula says Oklahoma State as 10 point underdogs covers with a good chance to actually win. My formula doesn't watch the games every week like me and I can tell you BYU is playing better and has been way more efficient than Oklahoma State. The Cowboys do have the talent to pull off the upset but I'm picking BYU to stay undefeated.
(12) Notre Dame 31 Georgia Tech 21
• Georgia Tech got out of Chapel Hill last week with a win but they'll need to play much better this week to knock off the Irish. Riley Leonard has actually been playing well the last few weeks and I believe him and the Irish get the win.
(10) Clemson 42 UVA 21
• Tony Elliott returns to Clemson to face his former team and the Hoos roll in as 21.5 point underdogs. I believe this spread should be somewhere around 17-20 so I'll take the Tigers to win and the Hoos to cover.
(9) Iowa State 27 UCF 14
• UCF has a mess at QB and to be honest this whole team is a wreck right now. Iowa State has outstanding coaching and development and I'll take the Cyclones to win.
(8) LSU 31 Arkansas 28
• My formula said take LSU last week vs Ole Miss and I did, it paid off. This week my formula actually says take Arkansas +3.5 so I'm rolling with Taylen Green and the Razorbacks to cover but I do have LSU winning.
(7) Alabama 28 (11) Tennessee 24
• Once again this week is me against my formula. My formula says take Tennessee +3 but I believe the Crimson Tide will win. It's totally possible for Alabama to win and Tennessee to cover but threading that needle won't be easy. This is Nico Iamaleava and a struggling vols offense vs a bad Alabama defense and a good Alabama offense vs a good vols defense. So it's weakness vs weakness and strength vs strength.
(6) Miami 34 Louisville 31
• The Canes have flirted with disaster the last two games vs Virginia Tech and California but came out victorious. Louisville is probably better than both of those teams and will give Miami another tough game. Ultimately I believe Cam Ward steps up and gets the Canes a close win.
(2) Oregon 52 Purdue 17
• The Boilermakers put up a valiant fight vs the Illini last week but this Ducks team will overpower them. I expect Oregon to win and cover ATS as Dillon Gabriel tries to improve his Heisman Hype.
(1) Texas 31 (5) Georgia 24
• The biggest game of the week is in Austin for Week 8 and the Longhorns look like a more complete and well balanced squad. My formula actually says take Georgia +3.5 but the "Eye Test" has me picking the Longhorns to win. I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia won and I also wouldn't be surprised if Texas "exposes" the Dawgs.
