South Alabama Transfer QB Gio Lopez Commits to North Carolina

Former South Alabama QB Gio Lopez committed to North Carolina yesterday out of the transfer portal. Lopez entered the portal earlier this week when it opened.
Lopez finished last season with 2,559 yards and 18 touchdowns, as well as 465 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. He was an All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention for his 2024 performance.
Oklahoma DL David Stone Enters Transfer Portal After One Season

Oklahoma DL David Stone has entered the transfer portal after spending one season with the Sooners.
Stone was a highly lauded recruit, being named as a 5-star by every recruiting service in the Class of 2024. He appeared in all 13 games and finished with 6 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a sack. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining, but cannot transfer to an SEC program and be eligible to play in 2025.
UCLA Transfer RB TJ Harden Signs with SMU

UCLA transfer RB TJ Harden signed with SMU yesterday.
Harden has been with UCLA for 3 seasons, putting up a career statline of 324 carries for 1,658 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also adding 63 catches for 523 yards and 2 touchdowns. His best season came in 2023 when he ran for 827 yards and 8 touchdowns. Harden will have one season of eligibility with the Mustangs.
Lane Kiffin Cracks Jokes at Miami Giving Carson Beck $4M+ in NIL

Lane Kiffin was on The Pivot Podcast recently and needled Carson Beck and Miami for the reported $4M+ deal that the Hurricanes gave Beck to come to Coral Gables.
Kiffin’s quote was, “Miami gave him $4.3 million? Did they watch his game against us?”
It’s worth noting Kiffin was smiling when he said it, so it was in good fun. Against Ole Miss, Beck threw for 186 yards and no touchdowns, but one interception as Georgia was defeated by the Rebels, 28-10.
Deion Sanders Pushes Back on Reports of Julian Lewis Redshirting

Colorado Coach Deion Sanders took some time yesterday to shoot down reports that the plan was for true freshman Julian Lewis to redshirt in 2025:
“Who did you hear say that? Who?” Upon clarification that it was a report from a student reporter, Coach said, “self-explanatory. Nobody said that, man. Nobody said that. That’s not our plan. That’s not his plan, but if it happens, it happens. If he sustains an injury, that puts him in that situation. But you never know. I mean, the guy could be a two, or he could be a one. I don’t think we’re going to put him in a box like that. We’re not doing that.”
Cal Transfer TE Jack Endries Signs with Texas

Former Cal TE Jack Endries signed with Texas, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
Endries is a former walk-on who has gone on to catch nearly 100 career passes for over 1,000 yards. In his time with Cal, Endries caught 91 passes for 1,030 yards and 4 touchdowns. Endries comes to Texas with 2 years of eligibility remaining after leading all Golden Bears in receiving yards in 2024.
Colorado Transfer EDGE Taje McCoy Commits to Oklahoma State

Former Colorado EDGE Taje McCoy committed to Oklahoma State out of the transfer portal yesterday.
McCoy redshirted in 2023, appearing in 4 games. He then played in all 13 of Colorado’s games in 2024, putting up 23 tackles and 4 sacks as a redshirt freshman. McCoy is now the 29th player that Oklahoma State has added through the transfer portal this offseason.
Penn State Transfer CB Jon Mitchell Commits to Georgia Tech

Penn State transfer CB Jon Mitchell has committed to Georgia Tech out of the transfer portal. At the time of his commitment, he was listed by On3 as the top available CB in the portal.
Mitchell appeared in 6 games as a true freshman in 2024, but since two were in the postseason, he retained his redshirt and will have all 4 years of eligibility remaining.
Consensus 4-Star WR Gordon Sellars Commits to Clemson
Consensus 4-star WR Gordon Sellars committed to Clemson yesterday over offers from Michigan, South Carolina, and others.
Sellars shared that his visit in March made a big difference and helped move Clemson way up the list. Sellars ranks as high as 144th nationally (ESPN) and 24th at the WR position (On3). This is Clemson’s 8th Blue Chip commitment for a class which currently sits at 8th nationally.
4-Star QB Gavin Sidwar Commits to Missouri
4-star QB Gavin Sidwar committed to Missouri yesterday over other programs like Syracuse, Pitt, and Ole Miss. Sidwar also previously spent time committed to Rutgers.
After spending a couple days in Columbia, MO, he shared that he believes Mizzou is a place where he can be developed both on and off the field. Sidwar is ranked 247th nationally and 16th at the QB position by the On3 industry composite.
