It appears that the Miami Dolphins and tight end Mike Gesicki are not likely to reach a contract extension before next week’s deadline, according to multiple league sources.
Gesicki will play the 2022 season on the franchise tag. The two sides have not been in negotiations on an extension, sources say.
The Dolphins placed the franchise tag on Gesicki in March. Gesicki, 26, was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Dolphins out of Penn State.
There isn’t much optimism that the #Dolphins and Mike Gesicki will reach agreement on an extension, as the two sides have not been in talks/negotiating. He was franchise tagged on March 8th.
