In our weekly segment, we talk to Tallahassee rapper and Florida State football super fan, TaReef KnockOut.

TaReef not only wants the Seminoles to win each week, but he wants them to look good while doing it. In the past, TaReef popularized hashtags such as #PackTheGarnetPants and #WhiteOutTheIrish.

Over the past few seasons, he was the most vocal voice on social media in his push for white jersey numbers to return to the home jerseys. Each week, TaReef will give his insight on the uniform selections for FSU and its opponent from the previous week and weigh in on what the Seminoles and their next opponent should wear for the contest upcoming.

This week, FSU travels to Raleigh to take on NC State. TaReef KnockOut weighs in on what he would like to see worn for this prime time contest on Saturday night.

TaReef KnockOut Weighs In

Thoughts on FSU’s uniform choice against Pittsburgh?

It was the right move, I thought, and reason I predicted the traditional home kit last Saturday. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn’t in our favor.

Thoughts on Pittsburgh’s uniform choice?

I was hoping for the blue pants to make the road trip. Pitt decided to go with their classic away look again as they’ve done all season.

What should FSU wear this week against NC State?

As much as I’d love for FSU to #PackTheGarnetPants, I feel like we go traditional away in Raleigh. We’ve lost in every uni combo so far this year. I don’t think we’ve ever gone this long into a season without seeing the traditional away look. Sending gold pants and a prayer.

What should NC State wear this week?

No prediction needed as NC State has already announced their special “Blood Moon” uniforms a few weeks back for this game. We should expect to see a new red jersey and black pants.

If you could add just one helmet, jersey or pant as an alternate to FSU’s current uniform repertoire, what would you add?

I would throw away the alternate helmet we have now and replace it with a gold chrome traditional lid. If done right, it has potential to be a really cool helmet. Something worn on occasion, though. It’s all about balance in the “uni-verse”.

Recent Uniform History vs. NC State

In its last trip to Raleigh, FSU wore garnet pants for a road game for the first time since 2007. Unfortunately for the Seminoles, the result was a 47-28 defeat. In each of FSU’s five prior trips, it went with gold pants. For Thursday night contests in 2004 and 2006 at Carter-Finley Stadium, the Seminoles went with white jerseys and white pants.

Since 1998, FSU is just 5-6 at NC State. Over that stretch, FSU has seen the most success on the road against the Wolfpack in gold pants. The Seminoles are 4-3 in traditional away uniforms at NC State since 1998, 1-1 in all white and 0-2 in garnet pants. Last season, FSU wore garnet jerseys and gold pants in a 31-13 win over NC State in Tallahassee.
