Florida State is coming off a huge recruiting weekend for 2023 prospects.

The coaching staff wanted to take full advantage and get prospects in on the last weekend before the “dead period”. During this period, coaches are not permitted to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off-campus. Official and unofficial visits by recruits are also not allowed.

The dead period lasts from June 27 to July 24. The Seminoles had the opportunity to host eight prospects last weekend:

  • Four-star DE Keldric Faulk
  • Four-star OT Lucas Simmons
  • Four-star S Avery Stuart
  • Four-star RB Daylan Smothers
  • Four-star RB Samuel Singleton
  • Four-star QB Chris Parson (FSU commit)
  • Three-star DT Tavion Gadson
  • Three-star LB DeMarco Ward

The Seminoles were able to acquire the services of three-star linebacker DeMarco Ward from Duluth, Ga on Tuesday. However, the coaching staff is looking to build off of this jam-packed weekend with more commits. That would, of course, generate more momentum on the recruiting trail.

In regards to the recent visitors, the Seminoles have received crystal ball predictions for Stuart and Gadson.

If Florida State connects on obtaining both prospects, the Seminoles would own 26th-best recruiting class for the 2023 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. It is also important that Faulk and Simmons, both four-star prospects, will be deciding in early-July.

FSU is battling the likes of Clemson and Auburn for Faulk and USC and Florida for Simmons. If the Seminoles were able to land Stuart, Gadson, Faulk and Simmons, their 2023 class would move into the top 15, per the Composite.
