Florida State added a talented defensive back prospect to its 2023 class over the weekend in Quindarrius Jones from Meridian, Miss.

Jones decided to make it official on Saturday afternoon when announced his commitment to the Seminoles. After his commitment, the Mississippi native discussed a variety of topics.

What was it like committing to Florida State?

“It felt like home, man. I feel very comfortable with the decision that I made.”

How was your experience competing at the Elite Camp on June 4 at Florida State?

“My experience was like, in my mind, you need to play like you are the best man on the field.”

You played a variety positions at Meridian High School; what position are you most comfortable playing and why?

“I’m most comfortable playing safety, but it really doesn’t matter. Any position I play, I put 100% effort at that spot, so there really isn’t a position that I would choose.”

What has your relationship been like so far with defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson?

“I love that man. I told him that I was going to keep my word from what I told him. As long as he knows that I am a Seminole, I know that he has a smile on his face now.”

Do you have any words that you would like to share with Florida State fans out there?

“I will not let the fan base down. #GoNoles”
