Introduction

We’ve created a 130-team bracket using ESPN’s FPI as our ranking system.

“But, anyone can create a bracket, how will the games be simulated?” Great question; NCAA Game Sim was used.

For each game on the bracket, the matchup was simulated once and every day a write-up will be done.

For the matchup, player statistics will be simulated and included in the write-ups.

Finally, thanks to the NCAA Game Sim premium membership, we’ll show the results of doing 100 simulations all at once. This is to see if a given result was more towards the expected side or if a given result was more towards the upset or luckier side.

All of the results have been simulated and tabulated, so at the time of writing the introduction, the results are already in.

This is designed to be fun, so please enjoy.

From Georgia to Massachusetts, here’s the 130-team bracket:

Match 66

(8) Virginia Tech vs. (9) Toledo

We’ve reached the final first round matchup!

Toledo’s defense was the star here.

Virginia Tech quarterback Braxton Burmeister was 10-for-21 with 121 yards. Virginia Tech’s leading rusher, Malachi Thomas, was held to 34 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

Toledo, on the other hand, was able to move the ball relatively easily.

Quarterback Dequan Finn was 21-for-37 with 235 yards.

Running back Bryant Koback was the game’s leading rusher and receiver.

Koback had 97 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. He also had 55 receiving yards on four receptions.

Holy Toledo! That was a domination in every facet of the game. The Rockets take off with this one, 31-7.

In 100 simulations, Toledo only won 46 of them. Virginia Tech won by an average margin of 23.5-23.

Winner’s Next Matchup: (1) Georgia
