On March 24, CJ Clinkscales committed to Boston College. On Aug. 2 he received a scholarship offer from the program.
Clinkscales’ commitment serves as a big get for the Eagles. He’s rated as a 3-star athlete by the 247Sports Composite rankings and one of the top 100 prospects from talent-rich Georgia.
We caught up with the Burford, Ga. native to talk more about the decision to take his talents to Chestnut Hill.

1. What was the No. 1 reason you committed to Boston College?
Relationship with the coaches. Coach (Jeff) Hafley, Coach (Rich) Gunnel and Coach (Frank) Cignetti always keep it real with me and it feels like a family atmosphere.
2. Between now and starting at Boston College, what is your No. 1 goal?
I’ll continue working on technique and learning the playbook. I also want to continue with film study and preparation.
3. What most excites you about going to Boston College?
It’s a great campus and very close to the city of Boston, which is real cool. The coaching staff is also real cool and chill. Real cool vibe. The city has everything you need.
4. If you had to compare yourself with an NFL player, who would it be and why?
I would say Reggie Bush from when he was in college then to the NFL. He was my first favorite player and why I wore No. 5 from first grade to now. I love making explosive plays in space and making defenders miss.
5. Do you plan on enrolling early at Boston College?
I have a couple of weeks to decide and see if I can work my classes out in time.
