• I have to say, the Big12 will be very exciting to watch this season and it’s ten teams who I legit think have an opportunity to win the conference which made it even harder to actually predict.
● The Utes have one of the best talent developers in CFB at Head Coach in Kyle Whittingham and they get QB Cameron Rising & TE Brant Kuithe back after both missed last season. WR Dorian Singer is a player I believe steps up big this season and the D-Line will be an elite unit. Don’t be surprised if the Utes head into the CFBPlayoff with 12 wins.
● West Virginia is a team I’m very big on heading into the season. I love what the Mountaineers return on offense. LT Wyatt Milum is a future NFL star, Dual Threat QB Garrett Greene is back, The RB duo of White & Donaldson is ELITE and the young pass catchers Clement & Ray have a lot of upside. The schedule isn’t the easiest for WVU as they open vs PSU & get KU, OKST, ISU, KSU, Arizona, UCF & TTU in conference play.
● Oklahoma State has tons of playmakers and veterans returning this season and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they win the Big 12. Ollie Gordon II is the best RB in CFB, the WR corps is loaded, the OL is solid and the Defense should do very good.
● UCF hasn’t been predicted 4th by most people in the Big12 this season but this team could overachieve in my opinion. KJ Jefferson is in at QB, the RB corps is ELITE and one of the best in the Nation. The D-Line should be solid and the schedule in the B12 isn’t the hardest.
● Iowa State returns talented QB Rocco Becht and RB Abu Sama III who have big expectations as sophomores. This is a well balanced team coached by Matt Campbell who does a good job developing talent and while I’m not predicting them to win the Big12 I do believe they’ll finish in the Top 5.
● Kansas is an excellent coached team under Lance Leipold. QB Jalon Daniels is an outstanding player and if he stays healthy he will have a big season. RB Devin Neal is one of the top RBs in CFB and I expect the Jayhawks Offense to thrive.
● I have to admit, I believe people are sleeping on Texas Tech this season. QB Behren Morton has talent, RB Tahj Brooks is a Top 5 RB in CFB, the WR corps is solid and the TE room is absolutely loaded. Obviously the Defense is my biggest concern but I really have big expectations for this Zach Kitley Offense.
● Kansas State is another one of those teams capable of winning the Big12 this season and it really depends on how dominant sophomore sensation Avery Johnson can be. The Wildcats rushing attack will thrive this season and DE Brendan Mott is a player capable of double digit sacks.
● Arizona is one of those teams you can’t overlook because they have a Top 5 QB & the best WR in CFB in my opinion in Tetairoa McMillan. The RBs are solid and CB Tacario Davis is an elite ball hawk. Just like most of the teams I’ve mentioned the Wildcats have the talent to make it to the B12 Championship game.
● I don’t think TCU has enough to win the Big12, I’d put their ceiling at 9-3 and floor at 5-7.
● Colorado is intriguing because they have two future 1st round picks leading the team in QB Shedeur Sanders and WR/CB Travis Hunter. The WR corps is loaded and True Freshman OT Jordan Seaton will make an instant impact. I think this team is good enough to go 8-4 or 9-3 but it’s too many holes on the roster for me so I see 6-6 or 7-5 as more likely options.
● BYU struggled last season going 5-7 and (2-7) in Big12 play and I basically have them with the same record except for one more win in conference play. The D-Line will be outstanding and RB LJ Martin has potential but the question marks at QB scare me some.
● I can’t predict everyone to do good and I believe Arizona State, Cincinnati and Houston are just bad teams, I don’t see any of them getting to 6 wins.
